We take a sample from your mouth and nose by means of a swab. The test stick is then placed in a buffer solution in which any virus particles present dissolve. Using the solution prepared in this way and a rapid test cartridge, any coronavirus proteins that may be present can be detected as they bind to the antibodies on the test strips.
